This idyllic town, which nestles in
a bowl shaped valley of granite surrounded by breathtaking Scottish
countryside was founded in 1817 and is perhaps best known for
it's malt whiskies produced in local distilleries. |
The plans for Grantown-on-Spey with
it's buildings, mills, factories, Hospital and Orphanage were
laid down around 1765 by Sir James Grant, at a time when The
Clan Grant was established as one of the foremost Highland Clans.

Charlestown of Aberlour is quite a
small town which lies on the banks of the Spey with several
distilleries and many places of interest. The area is set in
spectacular scenery and has a great history. |
Archiestown is a village with a population
of some 180 situated in the heart of Speyside and on the Malt
Whisky Trail. It was founded in 1760 by Sir Archibald Grant
of Monymusk. |

Created as a Royal Burgh during the
thirteenth century by Alexander II, the administrative and commercial
capital of Moray, Elgin, has a long and fascinating history,
still reflected today in the buildings and layout of the town.

has been a playground of kings, nobles and the great ones of
